May 16

Today was my last day at Quad state sales. My day started off  at a corporate manufacturer named mocco. Mocco makes lighting things that are placed in garage or anywhere. I got to see how the put the lights on the board by putting in machine and it took care of the rest. Osram a LED microchip seller. Osram was trying to get their products in Mocco so they could be publicly released at a bigger scale. After that I went and saw a start up company named Ilumi which makes lighting projects that are hooked up to ones phone and uses different colors. It is hooked up to music as well so it can go with the beat. Osram was trying to get in good with them for the future if they end up making it big. After that I wen to go eat with Bob from NSN which is a customer of theirs. This is where I heard the company was coming back up and had a great lunch. Overall this was a great experience and I thank everyone that had helped me at QSSM.

Wednesday May 15

             Today I started off my day by going back to Samsung to meet with a new group of engineers. These engineers were working on a different project than the other group I had gone and seen on Monday. We were trying to sell these people a part for a base station. A base station is where your phone transforms over when you make a call. The piece we were trying to help a distributor sell was called OVED a microchip card that goes into the base station that are needed everyday. When I was sitting in the meting I was with people in the room and people on the conference call. What I had learned their was that even though people are serious in a meeting their can always be laughs. They were many jokes about how people couldn't pronounce names of people, but by the end of the meeting it worked perfectly because everything worked for the distributor and consumer. Except the one problem was that their were different projects in Samsung to see who would finish first and we were selling to both of them so it got confusing for the distributor to see who they were dealing with. For lunch I had learned how the whole thing worked. It all finally made sense to me.
after that I had a meeting with Aroww a distrubutor of products was talking to us to join staffs to ship more product. By doing this we would have the ability to make more money and share information.

May 14

Today was my second day at Quad State Sales. My Day started by getting to the office at 7:30 where I was told my daily plan and they talked about what I would be doing at these places. In the plan it said to go to Flextronics. Flextronics is a maker of electronic ports, like what people use to charge their phones or laptops, and they make the red box machines that give out the movies. While I was their we talked about the price they were selling their ports. When I was siting in their I learned that how compannys try to get as much money as possible where they are negotiating to the fourth of pennies. I had also learned that the engineers over here design then they show people in China how to make it. Their is a problem with that system if their is a minor problem that they don't notice than they have to redo it and loose everything they had done for the time until they have noticed the problem. After being shown around Flextronics we went to AEG. AEG make solar panel system that store the energy. I learned their how they had made it and how it all works. They also told me how the pressure from laws has really slowed down their work that they could do. After that I went in saw another company that they were in talkings with about making a deal. This had Chinnese and American working together. These companies were very much different and they showed me how two different types of world can come together and make a plan. Their was a problem though because their goal was to get a low ball price that they could have had. What I learned from this is that everyone has their number it just takes lots of work to get their

Monday May 13

Today was my first day to shadow a member from Quad State Sales. I followed Matt Heckel who is a sales rep for many different microchip companies. Quad state sales is basically the middle man between the manufacture and consumer of microchip. When I Arrived I had to get my stuff ready and go into a confrence call with the whole company. It had to be a conference call because how people of the company are not all ibased in the same location. This confrence call was about the weekly plan and what their goals were for this week including the people that were coming in town for meetings. After this meeting I drove to observe a meeting at Samsung where I met up with a group of engineers. This is where I heard some classified stuff that was going on with their development with their 5G project and making their phones very much faster and better qualified in today market. Samsung was a great place to see what is going on with the new technology that is happening in today world. It was interesting to see so many different nationalities working together. Their was Germans, Chinese, and Middle Eastern that where all different backgrounds, but they are some of the must well recognized engineers in their field. After that we went to TDK to see their new material and talked about how they could sell it to other companies like Dell and HP. Through the entire day I got to see they business of QSSM and how they do their everyday operations by working as the Middle man of these huge billion doller company. The day was a great success because it showed me how to interact with people that didn't speak great English and people that were very different then me
